Roseann Rogers

For style writer Roseann Rogers, telling time plays an important role in her life. “In my business, you live by the clock. Simple or sophisticated, watches are unique in so many ways. I never dreamed how extravagant and extraordinary they can be. But after discovering how much time goes into making some, they’re worth every penny.”

Color My Closet

Color My Closet was launched in 2005 when founder Lauren Battistini discovered a knack for helping friends shop their wardrobes to create fresh, unexpected outfits. She combined this newfound interest with her love of color, cosmetics and fashion to create what is now Color My Closet. Color My Closet carved out its niche in the image industry with a fresh, updated take on color. Its mission is twofold: to educate women on color as the first and most important component of image, and to help them build a 100% wearable yet unique wardrobe. Service offerings are individual color and wardrobe consultations, group workshops, and speaking engagements. You can use color to create a visual face lift, wrinkle reduction, teeth whitening and weight reduction all in one! Learn how to shave 10 pounds and 10 years instantly. In addition to Lauren’s color and wardrobe consultations, I now hold style workshops at my studio. They are 3 hours long, include a workbook, and teach women how to build a wardrobe that is 100% wearable and unique to them. For more information go to: www.colormycloset.com

Fall Into Fashions

As fulltime working television moms, fashion is a major priority! We get asked all the time, “Where do you get your clothes?” One of the biggest misconceptions about television personalities is that we have a “stylist” or that we get our clothes giving to us. We’ll that simply isn’t the case. We can tell you that we go through clothes like water. We can’t wear the same outfit too many times, so we can’t spend a fortune on our wardrobe. We have to be practical, sensible and most importantly buy key pieces to add to or existing wardrobe. So, this month, we’re sharing with you our biggest fashion secret. Her name is Vicki Rizzo and she owns a local boutique, “More than You can Imagine,” which offers new and gently used clothing, shoes and accessories. Now, Vicki can help all of us keep up with all the latest fashion trends for fall.
This season, it’s all in the bag! Literally, ladies! “Big or small it’s all about your handbag” Vicki says. From moc-crocs, leather to pleather to even colorful patchwork, your bag is how you’re going to get noticed this fall.
Accessories are fun, funky, long and layered.  Bracelets are the new arm candy, especially cuffs. Belts are also big. Unlike previous seasons, belts are narrow or midsize.  Whatever suits your figure the best!
“When it comes to shoes, stiletto, platforms and wedges are all still very much in,” says Vicki. Heels are much wider this season and you’ll see a lot of rounder toes rather than pointed ones.  Patent leather is also very popular as well as or suede with embellishments such as bows or studs.
According to Vicki, just about every outfit on the runway was paired with boots by the industries top fashion designers! Everything from knee high to ankle boots, they’re the best investment you’ll make this fall.
The 80’s are back in a big way!!  Break out your leggings and skinny jeans and then wear them with a pair of ankle boots. Skinny jeans are also great under long tunics, dresses or skirts with funky patters and colors.
Scarves and shrugs, but the vest is our favorite- especially when worn with a wide belt.
Whether they are pinstriped or plaid, menswear power suits are now updated with a more form-fitting look. Women too have power and even though several work places have a “casual” work
“One of my favorite pieces for fall is the Sheath Dress,” adds Vicki.  The sheath dress is very versatile.  You can wear plain or glam it up with tights that match or colored ones to make a statement. Dresses are also feminine and fast, when it comes to getting ready in the morning!
When it comes to evening gown, this fall pays tribute to Princess Diana. She was photographed numerous times wearing her famous one shoulder gowns.  Also, give that evening wear a downtown edge by pairing it with black opaque tights.
As far as favorite colors, it’s all about the color PURPLE!!  It is an absolute must.
You’ll see purple in handbags, shoes and lots of clothes.  Any variation of the color will do as well as NAVY, DEEP PLUMS and burnt orange will refine any look.
And, in case you’re wondering about animal print?!  Get those shoes, belts and clothing out!  However, Vicki emphases that you must be subtle about your animal print, wear it as a belt or even a handbag. Not all together.
Hopefully, these fall fashion tips can help you get ready for the new season ahead, even though it still feels like the middle of summer!  Be sure to stop into “More than You can Imagine” for your complimentary consultation on how to move right into the next season by wearing the right things!
