Here is a picture of Houston’s own Laura Upton with Alex Ferrer, who is Judge Alex on the syndicated TV show of the same name. It is taped here in Houston at the Fox Studios. Laura attended the last day of tapings as an audience member. She said it was pretty cool to watch the show being filmed! After a long day of taping, Judge Alex changed into his regular clothes and came out to talk to everyone.

Everyone is buzzing about Erica Rose from the hit ABC show "The Bachelor." Erica is from Houston and although I don't know her that well, I'm very good friends with her parents. Just remember folks, everything you see on TV you can't take seriously. If you ask me, Erica is one smart young lady. Everyone is taking about her, instead of the Prince from Roma!

Denzel Washington and his family visited the troops at Brook Army Medical Center, in San Antonio,Texas (BAMC). This is where soldiers that have been evacuated from Germany come to be hospitalized in the States, especially burn victims. They have buildings there called Fisher Houses. The Fisher House is a hotel where soldiers' families can stay, for little or no charge, while their soldier is staying in the hospital. BAMC has quite a few of these houses on base but as you can imagine, they are almost completely filled most of the time.
The stars were big and bright in Texas this fall as Houston-based Neuhaus Education Centered celebrated its 25 year with the help of friends in high places. "Icons at the hotel Icon" hosted two fundraising dinners featuring a mix of homegrown and adopted notables including Houston Astros baseball star Craig Biggio, former football great Allen Pinkett and Houston Mayor Bill White.
Ivana Trump was the guest speaker for the first-ever "Catwalk for the Cure" at the Hotel Derek. Ivana is the author of two books, has a very successful clothing line and is set to host a reality-based TV show that involves a 40 + single woman looking for a younger man on the Fox Network.

I got a chance to chat with Colby Donaldson of "Survivor" fame at the grand opening of the new Texas-sized IKEA. Vern Yip, formerly of "Trading Spaces," also showed up at the grand opening. Yip has a new design show heading to NBC this fall.
